As one who has always been a critical friend of the Green Party the #Denton by election came as a shock. I have many #Green friends whos concerns for the environment are laudable. This new Green Party however worries me. The weaponisation of division is upsetting, and hits a new low level. Pictures of foreign heads of state may please some people, but shouldn't have a place in a greater Manchester election. A Party with a policy to outlaw private landlords, then uses someone with a substantial property portfolio as a candidate!! We need to unite people, not divide them.
So People voted tactically to keep Reform out of Gorton.. and guess who is crying? Reform.
Reform are bleeting on about "the muslims! the muslims! Those damn muslims!" how about the Jews, Hindus and Christians that also voted against Reform.. Well that's doesn't generate media attention. It doesn't bring supporters to Reform.
We all know what happened. The voters didn't want brown shirts in Gorton.
Well done to Gorton!
Hey BBC how about you give a party *WINNING* by-elections some serious coverage now? You understand what "bias" is right?
