I have a lot of wonderful, funny quotes, largely thanks to my wonderful quote volunteers. I will probably try to finish my calligraphy run post-bus.

For now I'm having a slightly hard time, so I think a break is in order.

So ends #DesertBus 2025, with an incredible $1,050,011 USD raised for children in hospital via Child's Play.

This was a tumultuous one for me. I make a project out of Desert Bus, aiming for 1 calligraphy piece per day. I got behind and I'm disappointed in myself.

I also somehow managed to take a splinter injury to my foot. Hopefully mild.

But my silly little project as Quotemistress gathered over 1100 quotes, and the community raised over $1M, and that's amazing.

Now all is quiet.

It's the end of #DesertBus, and we're going through thank-yous, live, as I write this.

I took on my Quote Database project again this year, with so much help. Thanks to all my quote-friends! <3 We have, somehow, collected 1107 quotes, compared to ≈667 last year.

There's still auditing work and then sharing this with the DB community. But for now, we've collected another silly little record of a silly thing on the Internet contributing *a million dollars* (US) to help kids in hospital.

I usually aim for 1 piece per day of the run, but I ended up starting 2 days late, yesterday was kind of a bad day, and during the night I ended up getting a splinter in my foot.

Sooo... in these last few hours, I don't think I'm going to attempt it.
