Dan is the final character out of the main 6 that was left to design from my wheelchair basketball comic Juggernauts. Honestly, I'm not super thrilled with his look, I might need to revise it later.

Anyway, Dan is a dingo, though his personality would be better described as "golden retriever". he's sociable, friendly and optimistic, often to a fault. He has good intentions and wants desperately to uplift those around him but struggles to recognise his own boundaries when doing so or recognising when things are, in fact, not all good. This, combined with his relatively low-impact disability, the fact he is relatively new to disability spaces and fairly inexperienced with how disability and disabled sports are seen by the general public, means that he can be prone to missing some... important nuance. Basically, I'm planning on using Dan to explore how inspiration porn is used in disabled sporting circles, and the harm it can do to both individuals and the community as a whole, even when there are good intentions behind it.

"The first red foxes, (Vulpes vulpes), to arrive in Australia were deliberately released by European colonialists in 1870 in three Victorian locations – Werribee, Corio (near Geelong) and Ballarat. They were introduced for the “noble” sport of fox hunting."

"Unfortunately, the suppression of dingoes across Australia following European colonisation is at least partly to blame for the explosion in fox numbers because there are not sufficient densities of dingoes control foxes. Foxes flourish in areas modified by humans. We show that their populations are densest around urban centres, and they do well after land is cleared for agriculture."
