Me encantó esta puntualización:
«Además, tal y como lo acabo de plantear, como una posición filosófica tan apegado a la práctica, tan desvinculado de lo erudito, y que tiene esa intención crítica, chocante, esa intención paradójica, tengo que advertir que es muy difícil, si no imposible, exponer el pensamiento cínico en un acto como éste, en un espacio como éste, sin traicionarlo. De hecho diría que no podemos ni siquiera aspirar a intentarlo, que cualquier cosa que yo intente hacer aquí, inevitablemente, va a ser un acto algo erudito y teórico. En este vídeo del programa Tonight de la BBC One del 19 de febrero de 1964 se cuentan tres incidentes de lo que parece ser rituales de magia negra (o cultos precristianos, la religión de Pan dice el presentador) en Norfolk. «Los incidentes ocurrieron en tres lugares distintos: las ruinas de Castle Rising, donde se encontraron dos efigies humanas y un corazón de oveja clavados en la puerta; la iglesia de Bawsey, donde se descubrieron un corazón de oveja y una vela negra; y la iglesia de Babingley, donde se hallaron otra efigie humana, un corazón de oveja y una vela negra. En los tres casos, se observaron extraños símbolos marcados en el suelo con hollín.»

🥕 🍀 Die Kyniker und das Glück im Gemüsegarten
Moderne Zyniker haben keinen guten Ruf. Wer als zynisch gilt, wirkt verbittert, oft auch verletzend. Zudem schaden sie ihrer Gesundheit. Die Kyniker hingegen vertraten eine revolutionäre Glücksphilosophie, die mit Zynismus nichts gemein hat:
1️⃣ Eudaimonia – Zufriedenheit
2️⃣ Askesis – Übung & Disziplin
3️⃣ Autarkeia – Selbstgenügsamkeit
4️⃣ Kosmopolites – Weltbürgerschaft
Zufriedenheit entsteht aus der Befreiung von falschen Wünschen; Disziplin hält diese Freiheit wach; Selbstgenügsamkeit schützt vor Abhängigkeit; und Weltbürgerschaft weitet den Blick über die engen Grenzen des Eigenen hinaus.
Freiheit hat einen Preis: den Verzicht auf das, was uns abhängig macht. Oder wie es Diogenes (vermeintlich) sagte: „Wenn du gelernt hättest, Gemüse zu essen, wärst du kein Sklave im Palast eines Tyrannen.“

Eigentlich wollte ich heute ja etwas über #Diogenes und die #Kyniker bloggen – aber jetzt, wo der Giorgio #Armani das Zeitliche gesegnet hat, überlege ich mir gerade, eine 180-Grad-Wende zu vollziehen und etwas über Kleider und Menschen zu schreiben. Ich habe mich da nämlich vor einiger Zeit etwas in die psychologische Forschung dazu eingelesen. Hm!
