This is profoundly traumatizing. I believed my fundraiser was successful, and now I'm being threatened with it being taken away.

GoFundMe is refusing to release the donations to my fundraiser. They are threatening to cancel my fundraiser and refund the donations because they have concerns about me relationship to a donor.

I sent them extremely detailed info on relationship to the donors, along with six different screenshots of receipts and chat logs

I've never met the most generous donor. The one they are most concerned about, but they run a cycling newsletter and website. I sent them as much info as I could find from their public internet presence. I explained I did not know the donor personally. It wasn't good enough.

This time GoFundMe sent an email that was in 100% Dutch. I don't speak or read Dutch. Still, I used Google Translate and replied again that I did not know them. I cannot give them information I simply do not have.

I've ended up reaching out to the donor through bsky. I'm horrified that I've had to involve them at all. They were super gracious to me, and furious with GoFundMe for dragging me through this experience.

They've given me permission to have GoFundMe contact her. I forwarded that on. Haven't heard back.

Hey folks! It's your friendly mod Glitch here, and I could use some help.

I am a trans nonbinary disabled individual who has been unable to qualify for disability.

Part of funds raised will cover February expenses like cat needs, personal care/hygiene items, etc.

The rest? I need a new computer. My laptop died, and since I am not able to leave my apartment very often due to ME/CFS, I need to have a reliable computer so I can work on content, stream, edit videos, etc. Since my laptop died a couple of months ago, I don't have that, and it's really hard on me not being able to do things I need to do in order to be able to keep my benefits.

Please help if you're able. If I can get this goal met it will make things so much easier for me.
