Fun mental exercise:
Next time you're driving home from work or taking public transportation or walking, doesn't matter... count how many bridges you cross.
Now count the number of actual bridges you cross, not the big huge ones. The creeks and streams, the overpasses, the places a vehicle could not pass if the bridge structure is compromised, the places where even walking (swimming?) becomes problematic.
