Anyone have a wired #smart #doorbell that they like?

A friend gave me his old Arlo kit and I installed the doorbell which is working, but it's practically useless without the subscription. Notifications and a live view is all it does.

I would like local recording and I'd rather not have to buy additional gear to use it (so no Unifi no matter how awesome you think it is). HomeKit secure video is a plus, but not necessarily required. Oh and it needs to work with my existing mechanical chime.

My #nest #doorbell finally gave up and I'm sad. It wasn't ideal but it did the trick. Looking for the alternatives, it seems that the EU market for HomeKit HKSV-capable doorbells (or even just homekit, tbh) is very limited. It really sucks to go back to a dumb button, there are many pros to having a doorbell camera.

An old door bell plate from a townhouse in the Park District area of Glasgow, with separate buttons for Visitors and Servants. I've always presumed the Servants option was to be used to get the attenton of the servants of the house (for deliveries etc) rather being for servants to ring.
