From atop a stone platform, a vast expanse of land and sea lays out before us. To the right, the rocky, grassy outcropping of the island where we stand. To the left, the looming, dark bulk of the mainland. In the middle, the blue-green sea with waves washing on the shore. Immediately in front of us, the low stone wall that keeps us from toppling over the edge. On that wall, in the middle of our view, a simple iron cross sits on a wooden base. From the sky, the sun sends out a single ray of light, created by lens flare.

Photo taken at sunrise in Gaztelugatxe, islet in the Biscayan town of Bermeo, Basque Country. Joined to the mainland by a bridge with two arches, on the top there is a hermitage dedicated to Saint John that dates from the 10th century, although some discoveries fix it in the 9th century, built on the remains of a castle attached to the Kingdom of Navarra and which was besieged, without being taken, by the Castilian troops. Together with the small neighboring island of Akatx, it forms a protected biotope.

Became famous lately because of Game of Thrones tv show, as being Dragonstone on this series.
