Day 24: Time Travel Tale
A Time Called You - I was glued to this one even though it stabs you in the heart. Complicated and suspend all physics disbelief (as with most time travel tales) but they somehow make it work. Nostalgia, mystery, thriller, sweet.

Day 25: An Absolute Classic
#Kdrama #sageuk Dae Jang Geum (2003), aka Jewel in the Palace
Historical drama set in the Joseon period is based on the first female royal physician in Korean history, Jang Geum (1474-1550). The drama touches on Korean royal court cuisine (as she first worked in the palace kitchen), traditional medicine, and royal politics. Credited for bringing international attention to Korean culture in the 2000s, later exported to 91 countries.

Day 24: A Time Travel
#Kmovie Alienoid 1 (2022) & sequel Alienoid: Return To The Future (2024)
Science fiction. At different times various humans, robots and aliens in the same South Korea modern future travel to Goryeo to solve a future doom or find the instrument that will cause it. It requires everyone involved in the future to go back and return through a portal, and some in the past to go to the future and then return after the crisis.
Day 25: An Absolute Classic.
I put the following drama under Day 11: All The Tropes and it fits for Day 25 too.
It is #BoysOverFlowers. Sadly looking very dated now but it is a hoot and a half.
2nd choice is #Goblin. Love it!

To wrap this fun #DramaRecsChallenge 1 "absolute classic" Drama leapt to mind. One that got nearly everything right.
Those newer to the world of #KDrama (post 2017-ish) may not know that back in the primeval mists of time, #KDrama romcom writers did NOT think "it can't possibly be a REAL romcom without a psychopathic serial killer arc"'"π

Not quuuite finished this yet but still: Little Women - Twisty mystery/thriller where you never really know what's going to happen. Good acting, good everything.
Day 24: Time Travel Tale
Quite a few time travel dramas involve the person going backwards or forwards and entering someone else's body.
Here are 2 that are not "reincarnation" dramas

Day 22: An Addictive Mystery
#Kdrama Signal (2016)
The entire premise of the drama is a mystery, besides final resolutions of some cold cases. This mystery was not resolved at the end of the series, but finally Season 2 is currently in the works for a 2026 release with the same cast. Stellar acting by our leads Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo, Jo Jin Woong.

For the penultimate #DramaRecsChallenge "A Time Travel Tale", there was an embarras de richesse (Pretentious? Moi?!)
from #KDrama #QueenInHyunsMan to #JDrama #NobunagaConcerto and many, others. I went with #TWDrama "Love, Timeless"
The reasons are in the screenshot - it's just a shame that it seems it's no longer being carried by any streaming services. A prime (ha!) candidate for Tubi, I think

Day 21: A Beautiful Friendship
Seo Hwi and Nam Sun Ho, played by Yang Se Jong and Woo Do Hwan respectively, in #Kdrama My Country: The New Age (2019).
Drama is set near the start of the Joseon era with the historical events as background. Although from different social classes, and holding opposing political views where they each took a different path, their friendship lasted till the end. Brotherly love among friends no matter the consequences or tragedy.

but it was not the 1st kiss I thought of. This one was. #JDrama Our Sister's Soulmate on NF was soft & sweet. This kiss scene imprinted itself for the ML explicitly asking for consent Be.Still.My.Beating.Heart - I'm a total sucker for the rare occasions when consent is sought. Ergo, to ME, this was legendary

There are a lot of good Korean zombie movies and series, but lets go with a happy one :blobcatgiggle: Happiness - A bit of a twist on the zombies, Sae Bom (Han Hyo Joo) is a badass and best proposal in kdrama land. Also PHS. :ablobcathappypaws:

2 #KDrama possibilities - #Circle & especially #MyPerfectStranger are mysteries I'd recommend - but in the end #JDrama #OkitegamiKyΕkoNoBibΕroku wins for #DramaRecsChallenge because "addictive".
The addictive mystery is "who is she, and why is she a detective?" Since we never find out, I was left craving an S2 . TEN YEARS later, and having watched it FIVE times, I still wish there could be an S2 to explore that mystery. I'd say that counts as an addiction π€

Day 18: A Must-Watch Fantasy
#Cdrama #xianxia Love And Destiny (2019).
Based on novel Three Lives, Three Worlds: Eternal Destiny of Chen Xi, by Ye Qi Lan Che. Set in same universe as Eternal Love, Ten Miles Of Peach Blossom, but a separate story thousand of years before. Watch it for the love story and acting, especially our leads veteran actors Chang Chen, our aged God Of War, and Ni Ni, a young fairy who falls in love with him. Top-notch production.
