At the very bottom a beach with irregular bits of gravel, above that a body of water that is dark blue at the bottom and white with reflections near the horizon and has a landscape that curves up away from the horizon away from the center with sky that doesn't quite as dramatic as its reflection

The rain ended after the runners went past so I walked back on this path in the James Kennedy State Forest with a soaked library book in my backpack

View in a forest with pine needles on the ground despite mainly deciduous trees and ferns being in view; the understory is almost all ferns up close but if you look further away there are some baby trees, a path works its which from the bottom up to the center.

If you go to a bigger running event you see a lot of people at the finish line who look really "run down" but at smaller events you get runners who are experienced and irrepressible even when it comes to heavy rain and steep hills

Happy runner at the Thom B Trail Race at Hammond Hill State Forest
