Goofing around with some old #FirestormArmada Aquan spaceships. There's a guy at the local with a humongous collection that came out of hiding and I'd forgotten how much I like the game. Especially compared to the bloated lumbering mess that the third edition of #DystopianWars has become (the publisher actually agrees with me, they're working on a new edition to fix those problems).

Ant/Arctic snowy islands for my icy naval terrain project. Assuming the snow (baking soda, water, acrylic paint (mostly white, a hint of light blue)) dries well, I think they turned out to plan. Flatter than ref pics, for ease of play.

More wrecked ships for #DystopianWars objectives. It feels good to make some models that are clearly not winning, not triumphant heroes or show ponies. The hole in the ship turned out way better than I expected, and I think the gurgling froth from sinking works. I might need to tone down (filter wash?) the slagged smokestack and aft turret, looks a little too fresh. Also ran out of plastic for basing.

I've got a few more types of terrain and scenery than just icebergs in mind for #DystopianWars. This is the first a series of wreck/salvage markers. Made from an old Prussian ship from Spartan sanded so it tilts to one side, a slapdash paintjob, and then I've tried for an oil spill effect like it's leaking from a below-the-waterline hit. #wargaming #miniaturepainting #minipainting #miniatures #wargames

Icerberg, take 3! Larger berg this time, just for variety. I chipped and wore more surfaces and did a full undercoat in the greener blue. More shows through, which looks more arctic. I also made the waves bigger, though I might have gone too big for the scale. And I incorporated a trick with tissue paper someone linked me to from https://www.scarybiscuitsstudios.com/post/making-small-scale-3-6mm-water-hazards for the wave breaking against the berg.
