Day 31: what was my favourite drama of 2024?

I think my two favorite dramas this year were the Korea-Khitan War and Jeongnyeon The Star is Born. I like the modern ones, but the historical dramas tend to be my faves.

Day 31: what was my favourite drama of 2024?

I was torn between #LoveNextDoor and #QueenOfTears.

In the end it came down to which drama was I most disappointed to lose when the weekend was over and I had to wait another 6 days for the next episode.

My Liberation Notes 2022
Memories of the Alhambra 2018
Mr. Sunshine 2018
And there were a lot of others that rated 9/10 or higher. So, it's been a great watching year!

Day 31 - Favorite drama of 2024?

So many good ones.. extremely hard to pick so I will just show you the ones I rated 9.5 & 10.

I haven't yet rated the 2 airing ones, but "When the Phone Rings" will probably get a 10.

I also missed "Queen of Tears" on this list because I hadn't given it a rating - it's a 10 also.

I watched 39 - 2024 South Korean dramas & these were the ones I loved the most.

End of the Year Drama Challenge Day 31:
Favourite drama of 2024?

The cdrama "Joy Of Life 2".

I watched it through (both s1 and s2) TWICE this year and it was fantastic. The first little storyline was a challenge for me, but once you get to meet the princes, game over.

If you love all the characters in Star Trek, it kinda feels like that.

Without much suspense it is Mr Plankton.

I can't stress enough how emotionally contrasting and intense this drama is.
It also carries very important messages like giving second chances to people, forgiving and forgetting, seeing the real person behind the shields they've put forward.

And it's funny. Not a single episode in #MrPlankton is boring.

Yes, definitely! And it wrapped up beautifully yesterday with the last episode of #SquidGameS2

Though it's not really a full season, they split up one season in two parts, and the first 2 episodes were a bit slow and boring, it finished with some unexpected plot twists.

Overall a good year.

Watched anticipated dramas: Shōgun #Jdrama, #Cdrama Joy of Life 2, Judge Dee's Mystery, The Legend of Heroes. Enjoyed these dramas as well: #Kdrama Korea-Khitan War, Chief Detective 1958. Fave actors, too.

#Cdrama: Impressed with actor Wang Xing Rue in The Double. Actress Wu Jin Yan plays FL in The Double, her acting surpasses as FL in Kill Me Love Me. Actress Meng Zi Yi was a killer Mei Chao Feng in TLOH.

Day 31 - Favourite drama of 2024 ㅁ My personal best drama of 2024, is Queen of Tears. This drama captivated the world, and brought everyone to tears. Queen of Tears truly embodied the word 'DRAMA', as it went to the extremes. #EYDC2024 #QueenOfTears #KDrama

Day 30: was 2024 a good year for me?

With a slight hesitation, I will say no . I enjoyed the dramas that I watched in their entirety but sadly there were more half watched/dropped dramas then there were completed. I actually did more rewatches of past dramas than current watches.

#EYDC2024 Day 22: a drama that deserves the hype

The title I watched in 2024 which most deserves hype was hyped by western viewers for the wrong reason. For all that western viewers were there for the gay romance, Khun Chaai is really a story about women struggling for agency in a time and place which didn't allow them much.

In other words, 80 years later it's still all about the men.

Try: We Become Miracles #Kdrama (May 2025)

Starring Yoon Kye Sang (a fave), about a disgraced pro rugby player turned high school coach. It looks like a feel good comedy and redemption. I normally follow #rugby team Japan Brave Blossoms ブレイブ・ブロッサムズ, not as familiar with rugby South Korea, so this will be interesting. #YoonKyeSang
