๐ŸŒ Day 2 of the WCRP Global KM-Scale Hackathon 2025 is off to an incredible start!๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป

๐Ÿ“ At the Hamburg node, participants have formed dynamic groups tackling topics like cloud climatology, aerosols, ice sheets, and more. Moreover, computing companies such as NVIDIA and climate modelling initiatives like #DestinE are also on-site, joining forces to push the boundaries of #ClimateScience. ๐Ÿ’ก

๐Ÿ”ท #nextGEMS is backing this groundbreaking global event, which brings together scientists, developers, students, and data experts from around the world to accelerate progress in kilometer-scale #EarthSystemModeling. ๐ŸŒ

๐ŸŒ™ After a delicious and revitalizing dinner at Man in the Moon last night, our participants are kicking off the last day of hacking at The Final Countdown! ๐Ÿš€
The day began with presentations of interim results. Now, the teams are highly focussed on preparing their results before tomorrow's grand finale.

๐Ÿš€ What a fantastic kickoff to The Final Countdown! Yesterday, our participants bonded over their first kanelbullar and wrapped up the day with an interactive icebreaker, including mini-poster presentations.
Today, the groups will start #hacking. Among other questions, they will explore how #nextGEMS data can inform the #RenewableEnergy industry. ๐Ÿ’ก๐ŸŒฑ

A huge thank you to @stockholmunilib and Stockholmโ€™s @naturhistoriska for hosting us! ๐Ÿฆ•

ISIMIP workshop in May 5โ€“9 in Potsdam, Germany:

โ€œThe workshop, while serving as the main annual ISIMIP workshop, will be an activity as part of the Horizon Europe project OptimESM, and an excellent opportunity to connect the climate and climate impact modelling activities with regard to potential inputs to the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report (AR7).โ€
