@jfmezei Hang on, something comes to mind: there was at least one "woke" issue in the last week. The Conservatives issued their platform, and there was some discussion in the media about their commitment to end "woke" research mandates, something like that.

However ...
Going in to this elxn, the NDP had 24 seats - 13 of which were in BC. They lost 10 out of 13 seats in BC due to the pressure to strategically vote Liberal to keep out the Cons. This pressure was evident even in ridings the Libs had never won.
In 7 of those ridings with an NDP incumbent, the strategic voting site SmartVoting recommended voting Liberal. #Elxn45 #bcpoli
It's interesting that we were all expecting a Liberal majority, given the polls prior to the election.
One thing that was correctly predicted was the collapse of the NDP. I still voted for them, since I feel their policy offerings were the best of the lot, but no denying they collapsed. Bloc & Green votes also shrank, leading to the 2-party result of LPC centre right vs CPC right wing.
Quite a choice: tax cuts & austerity & pipelines vs tax cuts & austerity & pipelines.
The CPC did better than was expected. Ultimately, if we don't adopt a more proportional system, they will win unfettered power with a false majority at some point in the future (likely next election). Basically we're following the same path as the USA.
That said, I saw Fair Vote's call for the NDP MPs to make PR a condition of support. I might have sympathy for Fair Vote's call if they had endorsed the NDP during the election, since the NDP did commit to PR in the last election. But Fair Vote didn't. So to now set the stage for further derision of the NDP by making a hugely impractical demand strikes me as a bit much (and I am a paid supporter of Fair Vote).

Canadians who want ranked voting! Before you get excited about Australia’s example… I want to point out the danger of non-proportional, ranked voting.
The Australian example has some very strange results. In Canada at least, where we do not have mandatory voting, I think this would intensify cynicism and disengagement.
Labor: 34% of vote : 56% of seats
Liberal: 21% : 9%
Green: 12% : 0% seats
Liberal National: 6.5% : 10%
Nationals: 4% : 5%
Only one of those 5 examples has a seat total that matches close to its national vote share!
Note to Australians: this is your system, and you are free to have whatever system you want. Please don’t take offence, this is just an ongoing debate in Canada since Justin Trudeau scuttled our attempt to move to PR.
And your Senate is a beautiful example of proportional STV!!

Another national election where the population rejected a Conservative party for being too close to Trump!
The House in Australia uses an instant-runoff ranked voting.
The Senate is elected with proportional representation with Single Transferable Vote (multiple candidates, ranked, proportional) though not all at once. 40 seats were in play in this election.

Friday night is the worst time to be writing about this kind of thing, but I ran a simulation on the #Canada Election based on the results if we had achieved some sort of ranked runoff when we were promised electoral reform in 2015—FPTP sucks.
Lefts together, rights together, bloc neutral.
Not quite comfortable with publishing yet, but preliminary results are that the LPC would have a big majority (191), the NDP would have kept their needed 12, and Greens at 2.
