@memoria I agree #podman and quadlets are awesome. I really had to dig to find the man page for quadlets. Found it in man podman-systemd.unit . I am reading it in #emacs with M-x man. I find it way easier to navigate and search than in the default pager.

Alright, #guix package manager, #emacs and #guile running in replicable manner across three different machines, two different types of distros.

As long as you don't have to deal with selinux it's pretty trouble free. Very much an improved experience from when I first tried it a couple of years ago.

I should do a quick write up later today. Next step, figuring out guix shell&home, testing #bioinformatics stuff.

@tchauhan I faced a lot of problems with setting up #Emacs 30 on #NixOS (with #tree-sitter). I've eventually resorted to using the treesitter package from #nixpkgs. It works just fine.

I just prefer fetching all Emacs packages from Nixpkgs, but that's probably just me.

This is more or less a necessity on NixOS due to the way #treesitter grammars are compiled, but this should work just fine on other distros as well.

Putting hooks inside the macro, like add-hook!, allows for implicit wrapping of arguments in a lambda function, which can simplify the code and ensure proper execution. In contrast, placing hooks outside the macro may lead to unexpected behavior or failure to run, as the arguments may not be handled correctly.

bon jpp des documentations de modules #emacs qui ne fonctionnent pas comme la documentation le dit.
je veux un word counter affiché dans la modeline pour mes fichiers org et autres textes, si possible sans faire ramer le tout. la fonction wc (word count mode) me donne des infos qui sont bien, mais elles ne restent pas dans la modeline. aucun tuto ne dit comment faire ceci de façon persistente.
