This is a good sign. According to CVS news, the unemployment rate among people with my major, business management is actually pretty low, 3.8%. That means I have like, a 96% of potentially getting a good paying job in my field, though of course it doesn't count discrimination in the workplace, AI, hiring practices in general and other factors I haven't even thought about. #Employment

What is the single most ANNOYING thing you hear from customers/clients in your job, whatever that job might be? Like, the most repeated unfunny joke or complaint or whatever.

Let's hear 'em (so we don't repeat 'em!)

Wow... that's depressing!

And I have been reading a lot about white-collar workers finding it challenging to:

1) Obtain work because of a tough job market

2) Maintain work due to layoffs, etc.

You know what sucks? My brother @rooktallon is applying for jobs and while I'm happy that companies are contacting him, it sucks that I even have to be skeptical about them. It feels like I can't trust any company and it shouldn't be this way. Now when people contact me or him with job stuff I always and I do mean always check to see if they're real or not because I just can't trust people these days. It used to be easier. #Jobs, #Employment, #Scams, #Trust

I used to be the guy and I'll admit this who would, when seeing a mutual aid post thought well, can't you just get a job? That's changed, because the job market, no matter what the government says sucks. Companies aren't hiring like they say they are and in my opinion, job boards aren't exactly the most helpful things ever because they do a terrible job at vetting companies, I'd say its a 50/50 chance you'd be getting potentially scammed if you're using Linkedin or Indeed. Regardless, I know how hard it is to get something stable so I just can't go in and say well get a job when that's harder than fighting a dragon these days, add #Disability to it and its even worse. #Jobs, #Employment, #JobMarket

As corporate profits soar, the labor share of income in the US has cratered. The last two years saw wages and compensation fall to the lowest levels since 1941. And these two developments — workers get less money, corporations get more — are absolutely related. Meanwhile, CEO compensation has skyrocketed over the past six decades, rising from 21 times that of the average worker to 281 times.

OpenAI's Altman claims companies use "AI washing" to justify planned layoffs, while data shows under 1% of 2025 job cuts actually traced to AI. Despite the automation narrative, unemployment in AI-susceptible roles remains flat since ChatGPT's 2022 launch. The gap between layoff rhetoric and labor data continues to widen.
