Tras darle muchas vueltas al tema me decidí este sábado a instalar #eos #murena

Os cuento mi experiencia y algunos consejos que a mí me han ido bien.
Yo tengo un #fairphone5 desde hace 2 años y medio y por suerte para este modelo hay un asistente en la web https://e.foundation/installer/ que te guía por la instalación.

Como mensaje para e/OS/ quizá sería bueno un poco más de información sobre el proceso ya que el móvil se reinicia varias veces y el instalador puede dar la impresión de haber entrado en bucle.

En mi caso me hice este listado de tareas para la migración:
- contactos exportar
- exportar numeros bloqueados
- listado de apps
- revisar apps por si es necesario backup de datos
- marcadores y apps web
- aegis y authenticators
- mover archivos
- exportar mensajes signal

Sobre el punto 4, hago énfasis porque hay muchas apps (sobre todo de fdroid) que permiten el backup de datos. De esta manera cuando reinstales solo vas a tener que importar el correspondiente archivo. Yo me olvidé de alguno por no tomarme el tiempo necesario.

Para mover archivos utilicé #syncthing, que es lo que uso siempre y no tuve que hacer nada extra. Cuando instalé e/OS/ configuré Syncthing rápidamente y ya tenía de vuelta todos mis archivos. Si tienes tajeta SD también puedes mover ahí los archivos y se conservarán.

En el caso de #fairphone necesitas acceder a su web y buscar un código para desbloquear el bootloader. Está todo explicado en el instalador.

Otro consejo sería no conectarme a ningún wifi hasta que veáis el icono de e/OS/. Hay varios reinicios.
Yo tuve algún problema para acceder al teléfono por ese motivo, me pedía introducir mi patrón de acceso pero no me lo reconocía, finalmente conseguí desbloquear gracias a la cuenta de google.

Obviously, all of those are at the mercy of what restrictions the big G put in place, and that's probably the cause of most of my gripes, but I just don't find I have the freedom in Android that I used to.

We really, reaaaaally, need a mobile #FOSS OS that actually works (and by "works" I mean it can run modern useful common apps... Either native build or android port)

Je ne sais pas vous, mais perso je trouve assez mauvaise l'intégration native de #DavX5, #eTar et #OpenTasks à /e/OS.

Les options sont pénibles à retrouver après la première configuration, et j'y trouve régulièrement des bugs pénibles. 😬

Du coup, j'installe systématiquement en plus les versions non-intégrées, issues de #Fdroid.

Bonjour ! Aujourd'hui, j'ai besoin d'un coup de main. Je suis à la recherche d'une application Android capable de faire des captures vidéos de mon fairphone.

Pré-requis non négociable : je veux du libre ! Pas la première appli qui tombe quand on fait une recherche dans le store (ça, je sais faire toute seule ^^). Parce que je fais une MeJ sur le libre, et ce serait contre-productif d'utiliser des outils non libres pour faire cette MeJ.

It's nice to see my @Tutanota #tutacalendar notifications are working well on @murena #eOS.

I always had a creeping feeling it wasn't quite working. But I guess maybe you need to open the calendar regularly for it to sync tasks you added from desktop. It doesn't background sync on its own.

No one has "dissed" magic earth yet? 🙂
Its very feature rich and mature on #eOS and #Zorin. But I'm sure they have some dirt on them.

Well, so far I am getting more frequent updates from an /e/OS community build than from OnePlus on my Android phone.

This time the OS image downloaded quickly without hiccups and installed flawlessly.

Going to put in some time moving to the /e/OS phone completely and run it for while 'in production'.

The first gen OnePlus Nord feels a lot quicker and more responsive with /e/OS on it than my Nord 2T with Android. That's a bonus. #eOS

@RealGene Do you use Google keyboard? If so, switch to Heliboard #heliboard or Fossify Keyboard #fossifyapps , on f-droid.
Then, activate Incognito keyboard option in Signal. It should help.
Other option, switch your entire system to iodeOS @iode or /e/OS #eOS

Weiß jemand, weshalb die Ikea Smart Home App unter #eOS nicht funktioniert? Ich komme bei der Ersteinrichtung bis zu dem Punkt, an dem ich Cookies akzeptieren oder ablehnen kann. Danach gibt es sie vielsagende Meldung "Leider ist ein Fehler aufgetreten". Mehr geht nicht.

Die Privacy Funktionen hatte ich schon testweise aus und über 5G habe ich es auch probiert. Half alles nichts.

@redguardian @nclick vielen Dank. Ich habe Sherpa testweise installiert aber mehrere Warnungen erhalten. Alles wird an Sherpa übermittelt - wollen sie zustimmen? Eigentlich nicht. und dann dieses Googleding... unmöglich. Angeblich soll man mit #eOS und den anderen alternativen Handy Betriebssystemen keine Probleme haben aber es richtet sich gegen freie Programmierer und Gruppen was ich persönlich unmöglich finde.

PS: Die #Sprachausgabe #TTS ist in meinem E/OS shitty. (Gibt es eine nette alternative TTS-Plastikdame in deutsch?)

Hab mal nh Frage zu den technischen Details vom #Fairphone. Was ist am 6er abgesehen vom etwas schnelleren RAM besser als beim 5er?
Es gibt ja ein paar Downgrades (USB-Port, etwas langsamere CPU)

Würdet ihr euch eher ein 5er oder 6er mit #eos holen? Grade auch mit Blick auf die Haltbarkeit bzw. Updateperspektive.

Mich würde es am heutigen #DiDay freuen, wenn kompetente Menschen realistische Einschätzungen zur kommenden #Registrierungspflicht für App-Entwickler von #Android geben könnten.

Mich persönlich interessiert vor allem:

- Was bedeutet das für #Fdroid im Allgemeinen und die Verwendung von Fdroid auf Androids im Besonderen?

- Was bedeutet es für die Weiterentwicklung von #LineageOS , #eOS und Co?
