Sure.

All my Winds and Pillars are destined to die on top of their respective pyramid.

What happens when that destiny gets changed - that's the core of the entire series.

I believe you can take almost any concept and run with it in modern fiction, just give it a modern tweak.

That's what writing is all about.

I will admit that West Flows, as well as some Wolf books have become comfort reads.

Is that weird?

No idea. I embrace weird anyway, being Autistic.

But those books make me feel good, soothe my brain, and so I re-read them. Just like all my other comfort books.

And I try to write more of them. 😎
