Starling on the Wire
Like most people, I love it when someone shares one of my images or postsâwhether by reboosting or embedding it. But yesterday, I came across one of my images on BlueSky, posted by someone who claimed it as their own. Curious, I visited their profile and noticed several other images that I recognized from creators I follow on BlueSky.
I asked the person why they had done this, and their response was simple: they liked the image. Honestly, Iâm torn between feeling flattered and frustratedâmaybe itâs possible to feel both at once.
Anyway, this is an image of a European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) that I spotted yesterday while adventuring with Charlie. Starlings are an invasive species in North America, introduced in the 19th century. Now, their population has exploded to an estimated 200 millionâso that cat is well and truly out of the bag.
