The Big Ugly Bill has passed in the senate. I can't help but think that is one big key step towards #eugenics. I think it's only a couple of months until they start talking about forced #sterilization & #euthanasia. Why? Because this bill frame #disability & #chronicillness as "wasteful spending."

After fighting against the feline virus he had since his SPCA days he was suffering a lot and all skin on bones and very weak. We (me and wife) had seen the veterinarian a couple months ago and they had no cure.

The UK's assisted dying bill may be well-intentioned, but the way it is being developed in the final parliamentary stages is worrying.
There are good arguments for giving a person a free choice on ending their life.
In practice, there will be people who are suffering because of lack of care and who want to escape their suffering. They should be offered proper care in life, not an exit from life.
And there will be many who will come under pressure from their family or doctors to just go. Those cases will be impossible to identify.
People with disabilities will be particularly exposed to these risks.
They may ask to die, simply because they are unsupported in life.
The drafting of the new bill ignores all these concerns.
