08/10/2025 - Evening walk to clear the head. Some days there just feels too much to do. So instead of doing I went for a walk. Doing can wait until tomorrow.

05/10/2025 - Evening walk to try out the new head torches. Didn't use them much really but they seem OK. The roads are easy enough to walk along without them on. It's nice to have the dark evenings back again.
01/10/2025 - Gorse in October for #YearOfGorse
10th month of trying to take a photo of flowering gorse each month for a year.
Just two more months to go after this. Starting to get easier again now. Plenty of gorse coming back into flower. A welcome bit of colour on a grey day.

28/09/2025 - Evening walk up Tap o' Noth in Aberdeenshire. We had tea near the top. Dark on the way down. Starting to get chilly on the hills now.
26/09/2025 - Evening visit to Bennachie for stars. Bit windy but the sky was clear and the night sky magic.
Day 50 - Giant Redwood
Taking a photo of a different tree each day for #31Trunks on my walks until I don't 😃
Well I think that's it. 50 days and 50 different trees I can see on walks from my house. So many great trees I didn't know were here before I started this. Today I thought I'd finish on a big one, the largest tree on earth, the giant redwood, it's just the other side of the road from the chippy. Seems a good tree to end on.
I had a walk today and I just fell in love with this old neighborhood. It started to feel like it's so easy to fall in love everyday. ... Like... Is this the princess castle and the tower where I wanted live as a child? Of course in between the Tarzan plays. I was the only girl though, boy-girl, I could never be the Tarzan. I was the monkey.

Day 49 - Noble Fir
Taking a photo of a different tree each day for #31Trunks on my walks until I don't 😃
Evening walk after work to look for trees. Today's is a big old noble fir. First time I've ever seen a cone on the ground for this one, a top find. I'm a big fan of noble firs.
Day 48 - Hawthorn
Taking a photo of a different tree each day for #31Trunks on my walks until I don't 😃
Got home after a day at work a bit tired. It had been grey clouds and fine rain most of the day. I wasn't much in the mood for a walk but we headed out anyway. Today's tree is hawthorn. As we approached, the grey skies left and the sunshine shone on the tree and its lovely red berries. It felt like the tree had been waiting for us to say hello. Just magic.
Day 47 - Grand Fir
Taking a photo of a different tree each day for #31Trunks on my walks until I don't 😃
Evening walk up the hill after work. Today's tree is a grand fir. Not that common on the hill so nice to come across. The trunk is very straight up with no messing around.
Day 39 - Black Pine
Taking a photo of a different tree each day on my walks until I don't 😃
Evening walk after work. Not feeling that great at the moment. More tired than I should be. I didn't walk far but it was good to be out for a little while. The sunshine was good. Today's tree is a black pine. It's in a strip of scots pine and beech between two fields. Not near houses. I'd love to know the story of how it got there.
06/09/2025 - Gorse in September for #YearOfGorse
9th month of trying to take a photo of flowering gorse each month for a year.
Slow walk up and down the usual road today. The gorse was trimmed a few weeks back by the council. It seems to have shocked new flowers into life this week. Nice to see a bit of yellow back on the gorse.
05/09/2025 - Evening walk up Crannach Hill in Aberdeenshire. We sat and had our tea at the top as the sun went to bed. Watched a wheatear flitting about and then two hen harriers soaring high. Dark on the way back. Big moon and nice stars.
