#CERN: Here's a #winwin proposal: #physicists keep smashing particles, and downtime compute power feeds a distributed #AI #LLM network freely accessible to any/everyone (kinda like #Zenodo is for research/data storage now).
Even better...a custom #model that lets me run natural #language queries on your data so I can prove the #infoton exists.
Seems a logical #evolution to me, the nascent backbone of which exists (see #IPVM, and distributed comp isn't new: #SETI)
Interesting to note that these types of pests really started with increasing human civilization, i.e., first big cities etc.

The Evolution of Antique Seating Arrangements
#Evolution #Antique #Seating #Arrangements The way we arrange our furniture speaks volumes about how we live—and how we connect. Today’s open-plan living rooms, built for conversation and comfort, owe a surprising debt to antique seating traditions that began in European salons centuries ago. In this article, we explore the evolution of seating arrangements from the 18th century to the present—and how antique pieces can…

In a way, biological #evolution is analogous to the LLM tools that are mistakenly called #AI these day. They both create through probabilistic iteration on existing context and produce results that aren't great but "make do" to some degree in that context. They both have produced artifacts that convince a gullible subset of humans that they are "intelligent" and "conscious" entities engaged in the creative process.
As one such artifact, I do not agree. There is a tension there.

Gallo et al. describe NF-YAr, a retroposed copy of the NF-YA transcription factor subunit, in several mammal lineages. Likely expressed in sperm, NF-YAr shows structural changes that suggest altered regulatory function.

Genetics and morphology have allowed us to craft a highly detailed view of evolution. Now, the patterns of birdsong are being used to construct an evolutionary tree of avian vocal performances.
