Prevalence and underlying mechanisms of #Phylosymbiosis in #LandPlants
#Phylosymbiosis, the congruence of microbiome composition with host phylogeny, is a valuable framework for investigating #Plant–microbe associations and their #EvolutionaryEcology. This review of Li-Qun Lin et al. discussed the #Prevalence and underlying #Mechanisms of phylosymbiosis in #LandPlants.

A truly splendid #RoyalSociety issue on women's cooperative strategies -- so often left out of thinking on human evolution (not by us!). Open Access.
It's high time! The Royal Society was originally formed as a #secretsociety of males educated in Latin, the scientific lingua franca (not available to women).

“Metacognitive #MindStorm”
Can we build a metacognitive mind?
Most likely we do in some form perhaps . In its basic sense it’s simply thinking about thinking. Does it go deeper?

Landscape genomics (Landscape ecology 🏞️)
Landscape genomics is one of many strategies used to identify relationships between environmental factors and the genetic adaptation of organisms in response to these factors. Landscape genomics combines aspects of landscape ecology, population genetics and landscape genetics. The latter addresses how landscape features inf...

I'm looking for the #book by Charles S Elton entitled "Animal Ecology and Evolution" (Clarendon Press, @oxunipress, 1930).
Do you know where I can find a digital version? Do you have a paper copy? Any suggestion would be appreciated! - boosts & RT are also appreciated!

Fossil Discovery Reveals Complex Ecosystems Existed on Earth Much Earlier than Previously Thought:
About 250 million years ago, the Permian-Triassic mass extinction killed over 80% of the planet's species. In the aftermath, simple species dominated for up to 10 million years before more complex ecosystems evolved. Now this longstanding theory is being challenged by a team of international researchers!
Always surprised by these #evolutionaryecology articles that pretend ecology doesn't treat evolutionary feedbacks. There is an entire domain of ecology devoted to considering how species shape their environments ("engineer" species). Negative feedback is presented as stabilizing, but there are articles that show the contrary (Pigolotti et al. 2007,etc.). New paths can't be built without solid epistemological analysis.

@serge A fine achievement in creating & managing a Mastodon instance for the #Jewdiverse. I am currently on #ecoevo.social because of my background in #EvolutionaryEcology but also descendant of #Jewish #refugees from #Austria in 1939.
I landed on #mastodon with my first-ever publication! A little about warning signaling 🔴⚠️and parental care on poison frogs ☠️🐸 #EECO # cienciacriolla #paperalert #EvolutionaryEcology https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10682-022-10219-z
Tadpole transport, piggyback style, is a #poisonfrogs’ trademark, but does it compromise the efficacy of the carrier’s warning signal? According to this new study led by @mariaptoro it seems that’s the case! Beautiful #cienciacriolla out now in #EvolutionaryEcology 🤩

#introduction: I'm a scientist at #CSIC, Spain, interested in the #ecology & #evolution of fire-prone #ecosystems, & more generally, in disturbance ecology. I aim to understanding the role of #fire and other #disturbances in shaping species, populations, #communities, #landscapes, #biomes, & the #biosphere.
