My most watched video on YouTube has over 40,000 view. This one hasn't even got to 1,000. And it's better. That's the problem with algorithms.

A friend today told me something that I've been hearing a lot. "That was a great video, why haven't more people seen it?"
On a personal level, it's really quite difficult creating content I care about, only to find it ignored by algorithms. Demotivating in fact. The entire point of being an artist for me is to share my work. Sharing is caring.
I look back on my recent work, with a critical eye, I wonder if maybe I'm just not doing it well enough. Truth.
A little sample of some time lapse from my latest tubes.
30 mins of me blathering on about a couple of things that really make a difference when shooting old school time lapse from stills.

Deep dive into elevating your time-lapse technique from janky to swanky. Super smooth and super lovely. I spent all winter chasing the motion around Melbourne and found a few keys that made all the difference.

A Photographer and a Monk and the Art of Choosing Happiness
I've been working very hard on a big doco project and haven't had much time for my YouTubes. Today I've posted a new video that shares a little of that journey, and my path to make better choices.

Creative space is not just a luxury, but often the most elusive ingredient when we seek to grow our skills with the camera. Today I'm talking about the problem of finding space to be creative, and fitting in a little photography around the rest of our lives.

New on the blog - "Getting Out of Struggle Town"
Even professionals get stuck in a rut sometimes, but with the benefit of a little inspiration we often find our way out again. On my latest journey through Nepal I found an old tool that helped me see things in a new way.
