Something I noticed today.

After I had typed the word "shoe" a dozen or so times, it started to look really weird.

I found myself wondering if I had misspelled it, or, indeed, even if it was a word at all. After a little while, I found myself wondering if I was even using English, or any human language.

I began to wonder if a 'shoe' was something I had made up. Socks, however, remained perfectly reasonable.

Eventually I was questioning my own nature, and if I was real.

I am still not sure.

This book, The Fabric of Reality by David Deutsch, is an existential crisis generator of the absolute highest order. After being told that all quantum possibilities actually exist, now I'm learning that the concept of the flow of time is absurd, that it is an illusion of consciousness.
