A bleak colour photograph of the door to what might look like an annex to an apartment building from the 50s or 60s. The worn concrete building has grey and wavy metal cladding and an old, faded sign saying ‘vaskeri’, which looks like it might have been hand-painted. The white door itself looks newer, with a small window to the inside. Next to the door is a small billboard for advertisements and notifications and two padlocked postboxes.

With a close-focus limit of almost one metre, the Hi-Matic 11 is not particularly suited to close-up photography. And with long, tender branches that sway in the faintest breeze, lilacs don't really lend themselves to it either. Of course I had to try anyway.

The somewhat chaotic depth of field has led many of the flowers to be out of focus, both at the front and the back. In between them all, a few flowers and buds are actually in focus, seemingly at random.

Norsk: Fargefoto av gatekunst ved trappene på Oppsal t-banestasjon. Betongveggane ved plattforma er måla med portrett av teikneserie-aktige karakterar i rosa: superheltar, hundar, ei jente med hovudtelefonar og fleire andre.
