Ok party people, listen up. If you are over 45, getting your butt checked is standard procedure. If you are under, have symptoms, and/or the doc says to go do it, GO DO IT!
I just had my first. I'm at slightly above average risk. It's not that bad. The worst part was the IV stick, but that's because I'm a hard stick. The second worst part was the glycemic roller coaster I've been on for the week leading up to "The Prep". Take the day off before and the day of. It's easy peasy and painless. Not to mention a really good nap.
Mine was crystal clear, so I have a good baseline for the future and I don't have to do it again for another decade. Others (RIP Chadwick "Black Panther" Boseman), not so much. Most of the time, it will painlessly save your life (it did for my dad).
