I like the style. I was a bit afraid of the photos on the fairphone, but it does a fairly good job of it. I also took a fantastic selfie of me and the kids. Probably one of the very best pictures I've taken on a phone.

I grow increasingly disappointed in the #fairbuds though. If you're ok just listening to music and podcasts, get them, but look elsewhere if you want to watch stuff or talk to people with them.

I have the feeling that FairPhone is much more sustainable, but that GrapheneOS is much better than eOS...

Du coup, après avoir réussi sans trop de problème à installer GrapheneOS sur le portable de mon fils, je me suis senti suffisamment chaud pour basculer le Fairphone 6, pardon, le The Fairphone (Gen. 6) de ma meuf sous /e/OS, malgré les gros warnings de la doc qui te disent que si tu te goures sur l'anti-roll back feature tu peux bricker définitivement ton téléphone.

@thijs_lucas am freitag kam das #Fairphone6 mit #Murena / www.e.foundation.de an. Akku war schon gut geladen, habs aber trotzdem nochmal auf 100% geladen...eingerichtet, gemacht,gedümpelt...und der akku hat am 5'tem tag noch ca 20% 😋👌 !
Geil finde ich den gelben switch an der seite = camera and microphone are disabled now!

Was seriously considering buying a #fairphone6 to replace my old iPhone, but their website is everything that is wrong with webdesign. It's a #UX nightmare with an #accessibility overlay.

Also, their choice of social media does not inspire trust in data safety.

OK. Donc, ce n'est pas la faute de Fairphone, c'est la faute d'Android. Depuis une mise à jour de mai pour Android 15, le système a donc une anti-rollback feature, qui, pour des raisons de c'est pour ton bien et ta sécurité bien sûr, empêche d'installer une version inférieure d'Android (ou de tout OS dérivé d'Android, comme l'est /e/OS).

Donc ouais, pour le Fairphone 6, ça implique que si tu veux le passer d'Android à /e/OS il faut bien t'assurer que ta version d'Android n'a pas des patches de sécurité plus récents que ceux de la version d'/e/OS que tu veux installer au risque de… bloquer pour toujours ton téléphone!

Et alors donc, là où c'est rigolo (non), c'est que ça ne concerne pas juste le Fairphone 6 mais aussi tous les smartphones Pixel sous Android depuis la mise à jour d'Android 15 de mai 2025.

Ça, je l'avais pas vu venir. En gros, sur le dernier modèle de Fairphone, il y a un mécanisme qui fait que si tu n'installes pas une version suffisamment à jour d'/e/OS (ou de tout autre ROM alternative, je suppose), tu peux carrément ruiner définitivement ton smartphone. Genre tu pourras pas le récupérer.
