Call of Duty 6 was getting ridiculous, to the point where I jumped ship to Battlefield 6. Although that game is serious, proper mil-sim, closer to the original CoD games, I found it far too social and team based. That's going to be its strength to some, but not for me.
I flipped back to CoD Blac Ops 7 with much higher hopes for a fun experience.
CoD didn't help themselves by using rock based trailers - I was not impressed. They used a NIN remix for Hand That Feeds, which was nice, but then ruined it with some Metallica.
I always thought they should have leaned in to prog rock or psychedelia. Something like Welcome to the Machine (a little on the nose), or Tool.
I had to remix their trailer in the end to Beware of Darkness (George Harrison), mainly because I watched Weapons recently. I'm sure this remix will be struck from the internet very soon.
