The image depicts a rural scene featuring a large, two-story house with multiple chimneys situated on an elevated hill. The architecture suggests it could be from the late 18th or early 19th century. Surrounding the house is lush greenery and mature trees that contribute to its picturesque quality. A fence encloses part of the property's perimeter, indicating a well-established rural estate.

The surrounding landscape consists mainly of open fields with gentle slopes leading up towards the hill where the main building resides. There are no visible people or moving objects within this still image; it captures an idyllic and tranquil atmosphere typical of historical countryside settings in certain regions during that time period.

Overall, the scene appears timeless but also has a nostalgic feel to it due to its black-and-white presentation which hints at either older photography techniques used when such images were common or post-processing effects applied for aesthetic purposes.

The Trump administration on Monday said it would
pause leases for five #wind #farms under construction off the east coast
🔥essentially gutting the country’s nascent offshore wind industry
in a sharp escalation of Trump’s crusade against the renewable energy source.

The decision injected uncertainty into
$25 billion worth of projects that were expected to power more than
2.5 million homes and businesses across the Eastern United States,
according to Turn Forward, an offshore wind advocacy group.

The five wind farms were projected together to create together about 10,000 #jobs.
The move left intact just two operational wind farms in U.S. coastal waters
— one small project off Rhode Island that began running in 2016 and a larger project off New York that has been fully operational since 2023.

The five wind farms targeted on Monday had obtained leases from the Biden administration.

Citing unspecified "national security concerns", the Trump administration said it would freeze those leases,
effectively blocking construction or operations
and jeopardizing billions of dollars that had already been invested.

LATELY DONALD TRUMP RATED THE US ECONOMY AS A+++++

YOU DON'T HEAR ANY BILLIONAIRES COMPLAINING, DO YOU
Mastodon Post

The following comes from a local (Brattleboro VT area) farmer who posts on a variety of topics, mostly having to do with farming and local goings-on:

In case anyone is wondering how trumps tariffs affect small farmers, let me present exhibit A, I ordered a small box of parts for my greenhouse, the price for the parts are $28.08, the additional tariff fees and brokerage and transport fees added another $115.20 to the cost! For a $28 part. The factory apologized, I apologized to him, he said business is severely affected by the tariffs. There will not be relief for small farmers coming from the WH, it’s all going to big mid western farms, mostly corporate owned by people like Scott Bissete, secretary of the treasury of the United States, how cozy…

Trump to send $12 billion in one-time payments to farmers to offset ag losses

LOL Most farmers, esp conservative, aren't stupid. This won't offset what they have lost just in one planting season of Trump's tariffs and won't cover the cost of refinancing farm and family obligations, let alone provide any biscuit and gravy, education, health care, etc money to the family budget.

Most will see this as an insult. Don't fall for any CNN "happy farmers panels." #USPol #Economy #TrumpsEconomy #Farms
