Maybe fascism and killing a few billion (yes) people really is the answer to saving humankind.

My daughter is writing a dissertation and she wants to put in a word that describes the #attitude a person might display when they're told they have only a short time to live and they respond by going "ah well I may as well go out and spend it all and have fun before I die because you can't take it with ya". #fatalism springs to mind but we're convinced that there's a better #english word for it. Nothing is #inevitable. #Fascists portray themselves as an unstoppable force of nature to discourage resistance. This narrative is flawed because it ignores the dynamic nature of #society & deprives a lot of people of their agency. #History shows that concerted efforts can overcome #oppresive #regimes and ideas. By ejecting #fatalism and embracing our agency, we affirm that change is always possible, resistance is both meaningful and above all necessary. Hate is a choice,not inevitability.

Commented on Reddit that a study has shown that we can solve the biggest problems for most people in the world for a few hundred billion dollars, if the world wanted to.
Apparently people hate the idea that we can make the world a better place. Must be really addictive to believe we are all hapless slaves who bear no responsibility for our existence. Except when terrorizing minorities. Then suddenly we are all righteous and powerful.
