"the correct order of biscuits and other meticulously assembled lists of extremely valuable nonsense": ein paar listen sind lustig, manche sind einfach nur albern, die etwas verloren verstreuten illustrierenden bildchen hätte man sich sparen können – hat mich ein bisschen enttäuscht, das buch. aber immerhin gibts squirrelcontent und librarycontent. :)

Nie wiem który raz to czytam. Jest mnóstwo innych książek fantasy, bardziej rozbudowanych i tak dalej, ale jednak wracam, bo zwyczajnie lubię.
Rozdziały, chociaż ze sobą mocno powiązane, to przypominają opowiadania i są bardzo dobrze rozpisane.
Opisy niezbyt długie, aczkolwiek sugestywne (tak że robi się gorąco na widok czarodziejki i czuć piwo pite przez bohaterów).
No i dialogi, to nie pompatyczne teksty czy wysilanie się na "epickość", to po prostu dobrze rozpisane kwestie.
Książka też nie jest przegadana i lekko napisana, 300 stron można zrobić za jednym podejściem.

Ale widać małe mankamenty: tu i ówdzie widać fabularne szwy, nie jest to też jakaś "epicka" i złożona historia w stylu Meekhanu czy Pieśni Lodu i Ognia, daleko jej też do poezji Tolkiena.

I czy tylko mnie uwierały "legginsy" w opisach i chyba jednym dialogu?

I'm trying to clean up my Story Graph timeline to reflect when I actually read some books, which is difficult when it was almost 20 years ago. However, I traveled a lot in that time and often used paper airline tickets as bookmarks.

I've had luck pulling the book from the shelf, shaking it, and the airline ticket - complete with date - will fall out of the back. Score! 🤣

Moje kolejne spotkanie z Marquezem.

Tytułowy pułkownik stracił syna, teraz mieszka z żoną i czeka na rozpatrzenie wniosku o rentę. Hoduje bojowego koguta, ale coraz trudniej mu go wykarmić.

Krótka książka, w której nic się nie dzieje. Podobało mi się.

I'm currently reading a #GayRomance wirh a lot of hot sex inside. What is special about this one, a #Deaf Professor, who swears to himself to never ever again date a heary, falls for a hearing fitness trainer who struggles with #ADHD and Dyslexia but has a knack of learning languages and gives all to learn #ASL to get to know the Prof properly. There is a lot about the clash of cultures. There are a lot of signs discribed in the story.
I wonder if one day this book will be translated in other languages, will someone makes the afford to translate the signs to the according sign language?
