AI has been infiltrating knitting and crochet spaces, filling them with useless patterns. Here's why that's happening and what can be done about it.

so wafrn… have many fiber arts lovers joined yet? where are my fellow hookers and knitters? in my absence I have been busy with personal growth and also growing my yarn stash into a proper hoard
Question for people who do embroidery or other fibre arts: When is a rest of yarn so short you consider it useless and throw it away?

“And what is life? A crazy quilt;
Sorrow and joy, and grace and guilt,
With here and there a square of blue
For some old happiness we knew;
And so the hand of time will take
The fragments of our lives and make,
Out of life's remnants, as they fall,
A thing of beauty, after all.
— Douglas Malloch, “The Romance of the Patchwork Quilt in America.”

Artist Irene Saputra of South Jakarta has created the most intriguing series of embroidered figures modeling big dresses and wide-legged trousers. Some of the outfits are on the abstract side and others are more realistic, but they are all fun and playful.

Got to show off some of my #CrossStitch / #CrossQuilting / #CrossStitchQuilting work to a shop owner at the mall yesterday.
I was really flattered, but she said, "This is *beautiful*! You should sell these! How long did it take you to make?"
...😶...

Es ist fertig! Endlich!
