Falls Ihr wie ich beide Services verwendet und merkwürdige Sync-Fehler habt, wisst Ihr, woran das gerade liegt.
Ich habe bei beiden Anbietern bereits ein Ticket erstellt...
EDIT: Filen hat geantwortet: Sie sind offenbar auch von anderen DNS-Diensten wie QUAD9 geblockt. Man arbeite an einer Lösung...

I used to use sync.com (still do until my contract runs out). I switched to #filen #filen_io because I'm moving from Windows 10 to #linux_mint ). After some initial pain on windows (synced files were going the wrong direction), and some helpful advice from Filen's support team, I now have an account on 4 computers: Windows, windows, mac, and Linux, not to mention several mobile devices and tablets. I am happy to say it's all going great, and I love that I am supporting a smaller team.

Anyone want to try Filen.io for cloud storage? It's a pretty good alternative to #OneDrive, #GoogleDrive and #Dropbox.

They offer pretty good plans, e2e encryption, notes, chat and apps that work on #Linux flawlessly (you can map your storage as a network drive too!).

Da ich an dieser Stelle mal #kdrive empfohlen hatte, hier die Korrektur:

Momentan setze ich auf #filen #filen_io und habe zweimal lifetime 100GB besorgt.

kdrive bietet nur eine AppImage Datei für Linux an, die unter Wayland Probleme macht. Jedenfalls arbeitet das System nicht. Der Support meinte nur "müsste gehen". Tja, sehr hilfreich.

Wichtigste Daten gehen gleichzeitig auch auf private Nextcloud.

kdrive habe ich Daten belassen, weil die mir mehrere TB zur Verfügung stellten ohne Abo. Werde es also als eine Art Archiv oder Lager weiterverwenden. Zum Synchronisieren taugt es aber gerade gar nichts.

This weekend I'm adding my entire photo collection (296 gb) to Immich!

Steps:
- Sync from cloud (in my case https://filen.io/) to my home server
- Make some coffee☕
- Set up https://immich.app/ and add the file path as an external library
- Let Immich work its magic with machine learning and indexing, all running locally

Voila! A user experience that is superior to google photos, and privacy friendly.

You can use Syncthing, FolderSync… even the monster Dropbox… What I use is Filen, but you have to manually download the folder for Android. This is not a big problem for me, though, because I'm mostly a PC user 💻️ I might look for other options in the future, but I'm OK now.
💡 Ah, and not to forget: You could use Logseq's sync if you like it in order to support the project (I personally enjoy it a lot, it helps me very much with learning, and it's not so hard to learn how to use it if what you want is not highly advanced text formatting)

No, I'm well with #ProtonDrive , but it doesn't support password file encryption.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I heard that #filen_io doesn't support folder uploading, which is awful. 😦

New experiment: delete all of the stock apps (File manager, gallery, video player, music player, etc.) from my #Android phone (a #Realme C55) and replace them with #FOSS alternatives from #Fdroid and #IzzyOnDroid :

- File manager -> File Explorer
- Photos and video player -> #AvesLibre
- Music player -> #Gramophone
- Google Contacts -> #Fossify Contacts

I've deleted #GooglePhotos too, since I'm going to use #Filen_io and #Megasync for that purpose.
