At least it was an A-List movie for both of us. At one point tears fall down Cruise's face and the other laughing guy let out a loud one. Didn't even try to stifle it at all. That man is my hero!

Also, did they think we'd just all forget this was a Part Two just because they changed the name to Final Reckoning? Yikes!

We seldom agree on movie ratings but, in order to do it "right," I'm going to binge watch MI 1-7 & then give you my rankings of the series, including MI-8. However, since MI 7 & 8 are serialized, I really consider them just a single movie.

That said, I can tell you that my favorite MI movie is still the original MI1.

Don't they say that the original is almost always better than the sequel?

Perhaps not so for the #Godfather 1&2 but I think this applies for MI 1-7/8.

So, my favorite MI movie remains MI1. As for the others, I'll need to see them again & think about it.

I believe the Minnesota / Oklahoma City game is an impossible mission for the Timberwolves and their final reckoning. I think I'll go watch Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning instead of this game.

So, I just saw #FinalReckoning at my local AMC. Only 1 other person in the theater besides me & my GF.

Bottom line: I liked it & would give it a 7 out of 10 & I think it is marginally better than #DeadReckoning which I'd now give a 6.5.

BTW, while I've enjoyed them all, I wouldn't give any MI movie a rating greater than 7.

The 1st hour or so of intro & back story didn't bother me. In fact, I think it helped to recap what had happened before & how it related to the story at hand.

There were a variety of plot gaps & implausible elements in the film that I just let pass but why did they bring a portable decompression chamber but not an AED to revive Hunt after he was somehow recovered from under the ice is beyond me. 🤷‍♂️

The possibility of an MI9 is suggested at the end but I really hope that this the end of the MI chronicles.

It has been 29 years since MI1 & IMO that's long enough.

Tom Cruise is still running beautifully. He wrecks a car but he can catch up with bad guys by foot. #finalreckoning

These movies always tried to be pure escapism, but at the end of #FinalReckoning I felt as tired, old and beaten as Ethan. The end of the movie leaves the world pretty much broken, and maybe Tom realising that it will never be the same.

So, 'bout that new #MissionImpossible movie—

There's a very specific tone to these films. It straddles that fine line between plausible action thriller and absurd cinematic spectacle.

I think Fallout exhibits the perfect balance and probably remains my favorite film in the franchise.

These last two have certainly tipped over into spectacle, and the question is, did I enjoy the spectacle of #FinalReckoning more than the previous installment?

The helicopter shenanigans at the end are maybe a liiiittle bit over-the-top compared to the rest of the film, but the first Mission Impossible is SO good. A near-perfect spy thriller! I’m doing a rewatch marathon, leading up to #FinalReckoning…next up MI:2 😷✈️🧗🏻😎💥
