Neben der zweiten Partie Life of Amazonia wurde nochmal Finspan aufgetischt.

Life of Amazonia konnte auch in der zweiten Partie überzeugen. Da wie bei Cascadia unterschiedliche Anforderungskarten bei den Tieren bestehen spielte sich die Partie auch wieder ganz anders.

Finspan mag ich sehr gerne, da es die schnelle Version der Spanspiele ist. Schnell aufgebaut und zügig abgespielt und sich wieder über tolle Fische gefreut.

We had a new player join us (it wasn’t really Dante) and they were able to pick it up really quickly.

2. Un "spin-off" de el juego Wingspan, Finspan. Uno en un buzo, tiene que encontrar tantos peces distintos como posible, se parece al juego Wingspan donde se buscan aves, pero 20% mas simple.

I got Finspan to the table.

Definitely a step up from Wingspan, not just because I like fish more than birds.

No more managing stupid dice and resources, it's more like a deckbuilder to get cards down.

It's more streamlined and kid-friendly, IMO, but still deeply tactical.

The artwork, as always, is just magnificent.

The 27 #BoardGames I played in March.

My favourite mechanic of the month was in #Cosmoctopus - after you’re done moving the octopus around you turn it to face the next player - a different take on “oh, is it my turn?” that’s still kind of annoying but also cute and silly.

I thought #Finspan was going to be the easy version of the three *span games, but after three losses I think it might just be the one I’m worst at!

Our Monday gaming group has grown a lot over the past couple of years. It's been exciting to see! It was just four of us back in 2021. Now we have between 9 and 12 regulars showing up. I'm also proud of our wide age range of 20-76(?). All lovely people!

We kicked things off with #TurboDrift. This little #Buttonshy wallet packs a whole lot of awesome!

I had an appointment to get to, so we played #Overboss. Quick little tile laying game. I love the artwork, and it's always a fun one.

Then half the group played #Finspan and my half played #Wyrmspan. Wyrm feels like too much of a struggle to me. But it's fine. #Wingspan is still my favorite of all the spans. And not just for the birds, which I can't stop staring at (in game, and irl). Three are so many more cool card interactions. It always feels satisfying.

Wir haben am Wochenende ein paar (neue) #brettspiele zu zweit gespielt.
Begonnen haben wir mit Bomb Busters. Da es überall sehr gelobt wird, waren die Erwartungen verdammt hoch. Unseren Geschmack hat es aber nicht so richtig getroffen. Irgendwie fehlte uns die Story. Einfach nur auf Zahlen zeigen fanden wir nicht spannend.

Dann kam Caldera Park auf den Tisch. Die Fortsetzung von Savanna Park. Kurzweiliges Familienspiel mit schönen Grafiken von Annika Heller.

Dann durfte nochmal eines unserer Lieblingswohlfühlspiele ran, Meadow - im Reich der Natur. Wieder mit der Abenteuerbuch-Erweiterung. Auch das Dritte Kapitel, Windmühlen, hat wieder Spaß gemacht.

Und Finspan war auch nochmal angesagt. Für mich die perfekte Ergänzung zu Flügelschlag. Ich kann damit mehr anfangen als mit den Drachen von Schwingenschlag.

Und zum Abschluss am Sonntagvormittag durfte uns das frisch erschienene Rival Cities unterhalten. Es ist ein Zweipersonen Spiel in dem die Rivalität der beiden Städte Hamburg und Altona thematisiert hat. Grafiken auch hier von Annika Heller.

Tolles Spiel um ein historisches Thema.

Playing #Finspan! Gribbley deep sea fish have some strong representation in this game. First impression is this is a definite refinement over Wyrmspan, and the fish are oddly charismatic. Be prepared for the effishiency pun at least three times.

The one thing I’d change is to add cards for the fish that are permanently on the board, or at least make them look more like cards but that would probably spoil the look of the board.

I had to force myself to remember they were there, especially once I’d put a few fish out. I know extra cards would add to the set up though. Anyway, it's just a minor thing.

I couldn't resist a quick solo play of Finspan. My initial thoughts:

Not necessarily easier than Wingspan but definitely more streamlined and less fiddly.

I love the mechanic where to play some fish you spend cards from your hand but they go to your discard pile and can easily be brought back.

Resources are simplified and don't feel as constricted as Wingspan.

So far I prefer Finspan and think it’ll get played more often than Wingspan.

First game of #Finspan (new twist on #Wingspan ) and seem to have aced it with a winning score of 129 points, 48 points and bonus stuff from my many schools of young fish. Fun game. Complicated to get started but running easily within a few turns.

Ich hab den ganzen Februar keine #Brettspiele gespielt, da unterwegs war. Hab ein paar Partien bei BGA gespielt. ISt aber nicht dasselbe und wird auch nicht geloggt.

Jetzt am Wochenende kam #Meadow - Das Abenteuerbuch, Finspan, Die Burgen von Burgund Special Edition und Evenfall auf den Tisch.

Meadow war wie erwartet toll. Wir haben das erste Kapitel im Abenteuerbuch gespielt, da kommen zusätzlich Wetterkarten zum Einsatz. Ich mag einfach die "Wanderung" und das Beobachten von Tieren.

#Finspan hat Spaß gemacht, auch wenn es aus der ganzen Reihe das einfachste Spiel ist, so ist es doch anders genug, dass es öfter auf den Tisch kommt und als Taucher freu ich mich immer über Fische.

Die Burgen von Burgund sind in der Special Edition wie gewohnt toll. Im Nachhinein ärger ich mich, dass ich nicht all in gegangen bin, denn die Burgen Minis sind echt schön.

Und zu guter letzt #Evenfall. Es hat uns beide recht ratlos zurück gelassen. Wir waren noch nicht enmal sicher ob es eine zweite Chance bekommt. Es fehlt einfach eine Story. Es hat uns gar nicht getouched. #boardgames

Nach der ersten Zweier-Partie #Finspan kann ich schonmal sagen: Das war kein Fehlkauf! Ganz im Gegenteil. Wenn man vom großen Bruder kommt, muss man sich mal kurz umgewöhnen, aber das ist halb so wild. Insgesamt wundervoll gestrafftes Spielerlebnis, wertiges Material, gut gemachte Anleitung. Spielerinteraktion ist allerdings wirklich null. Man schaut nur mal rüber, um zu sehen, wie weit man im Punkterennen führt/zurückliegt. Achtung: Es gibt unterschiedliche Flossen! 🦈
