@djsumdog @dazo I used #Librewolf years ago, only switching to #FirefoxNightly when I got a new computer. If #Librewolf has a nightly version like #Firefox does, I might make the switch. It should be painless enough.

odd. i thought my :firefoxnightly: had lost all my existing tab-notes, which wouldn't have been a catastrophe but would have been disappointing. on a whim i thought to recheck about:config for its current boolean value of my previously manually-enabled browser.tabs.notes.enabled, & thus found it had reverted to false during some very recent update. i flipped it back to my desired true, & voila, my existing tab-notes are once more visible & editable, with new ones "creatable".

yesterday arvo my once-beloved ArchLinux Plasma primary-boot once more summarily froze solid again [even ignoring REISUB again], as has been happening now randomly for many months or maybe a year'ish, after years & years & years of never doing so. as i was planning on still doing my weekly updates on sunday, it meant it still only has Plasma 6.5.5, not 6.6.0. anyway, in my increasing dotage & senility, i have grown disinterested over the past 18 months in needing to still do the occasional forensic troubleshooting & finessing of Olden Days Of Yore... plus, this latest freeze, ipso facto the complete disjuncture to my work in hand til that point, infuriated me completely, sufficient to reboot into my tertiary-boot, Fedora Kinoite, & keep going with what i was doing there... after first running updates on it then rebooting again.

accordingly, credit to the marvellous Fedora Plasma Devs & Maintainers, it now runs Plasma 6.6.0 too. one of the things i was keen to try was the new #Spectacle, with its #OCR text extraction tool. this works ootb, not needing me to fart about manually installing #tesseract as i have been reading needs to happen in other distros. so that's pretty lovely, however, not at all lovely, & indeed triggering a bout of out-loud swearing by me, was this discovery... it uses Merkan English, not proper english, ie, pommie or strayan. oh yuck, i feel so dirty now. merkan is to english as magamoron is to decency, morality, ethics, education, empathy, kindness, compassion...

@anderslund noice! happy to see your tag #kdelinux there! i have it in a couple of #QEMU VMs, & ran it as my third-boot on my main pc for some weeks earlier in its Alpha, but eventually replaced it with :linuxfedora: #Kinoite [whence i post this]. once it reaches Beta [when i hope they have fixed the current inability to install with manual partitioning], i plan to put it back onto one of my SSDs to be my 4th-boot.

am itching to return to my 1st-boot, :archlinux: #ArchLinux, but can't really do so til whatever recent bug is fixed that weirdly broke #wireguard protocol in my #VPN app. 😲 🤯

i'm in straya, not europe, but am avidly anti-merka anti-orange anti-fascist et al. i have three pooters here.

• old clunker media pc: #LMDE
• laptop: #Fedora #Kinoite -- really hoped to put #KDELinux or #Kalpa on it, but neither copes with its old HW [2011 dell xps15, no uefi]. Kinoite is lovely, but i'm unhappy to use a merkan system, so once i find another atomic immutable compatible with it [i have run numerous mutables on it over the years, but nowadays want an immutable on it], i will replace Kinoite.
• main tower: triple-boot Arch KDE + Fedora Kinoite + SparkyLinux Cinnamon. Same comments here for Kinoite; not the uefi bit though, as tower is uefi, but both Kalpa & KDELinux atm "demand" a drive to themselves, so i might need to buy another SSD. In meantime, my daily boot is again Arch, after a few months of daily Kinoite.

have used, & enjoyed, #kdiff3 as my default graphical diff app in all my various distros, having first discovered it in my default boot, :archlinux: :kde: , years ago. it has been quite an up & down ride though, coz when it works it's excellent, but over the long haul it has broken many times, partly or completely. for the past week or two it's been pissing me off again. though it launches, both standalone & when invoked from #Dolphin, as soon as i click the icon to begin the manual diffing, its GUI freezes & has to be closed. trying several recent versions via downgrade hasn't helped, & reverting its config file to default also hasn't. i've finally lost all patience with it, so have removed it, & now my default diff app is #Meld... which is a pity given it's GTK. i still have #Kompare installed, but only use it for simple things, given it is barely configurable & flexible compared to the other two. sassen frassen rassen.

• really pleasant to use, a great UX 👍
• really wish it was not merkan 👎

imo, i hope hope hope that project banana, aka, KDE-Linux :kde: :linux: reaches Beta asap, at which point i might well replace Kinoite with it... not only, but bigly part of my desire, to eliminate as much merkanism from my pc as possible, such is my abhorrence & disgust with that failing fascist state of murder, invasion, violence, & skyfairydelusionism.

today i made a geeky early new year's eve vow to myself. henceforth, am gonna bung each new site #bookmark i create into a single folder, not my decades old complex hierarchy of squillions of folders with subfolders with subfolders etc, & instead begin assigning discrete firefox #Tags to each new BM. curious to assess how workable such a new paradigm will be for me.

I use those by choice in my tower's ArchLinux boot, but in my Kinoite boot this theme is absent. My online search attempts for a solution have not helped. Ta 🤞
