For me, revising a rough draft for the first time is akin to eating cauliflower: I get that it’s a good thing, but it’s not appealing on any level. It’s bland, it’s boring, and sometimes it’s just plain disgusting. But it’s also hard to avoid.

My "first drafts" are often bonkers and rough, I take a lot of inspirations from other stories I liked & create something that is just plainly Fan Fiction trash... Than I take this lump of "garbage" & reshape it. Maybe clay would be a better name as "garbage."😅
With time passing, the world takes shape, it's interesting to see, how it fits together, what gets deleted or moved over into other projects.
Sometimes I reuse stuff, which is kinda interesting to see how it evolves depending on the project. It's a bit like the road one has not taken or convergent evolution.
Sometimes I wonder how I moved from the idea to the end but most times all my changes are at least documented, if I don't loose all backups. I really should do another copy of them...😅
