Maybe the "Followers / Following" counts could be in private visibility only, and that will prevent the abuse. And also I think the visibility of your posts is more important here on Mastodon than of how many people are actually following you.

There are #robot accounts getting way too many #followers. In case I am wrong, just in the off chance, since it wasn't abusive I'll just leave it alone.
