Unseen and strict, the Shamanic Code ruled Manchu spiritual life. These rituals shaped power, defined the sacred, and enforced loyalty to the emperor. This was faith... with rules.

#People, bleurgh. They're everywhere! But one thing that #MonochromeMonday made me realize is that #bnw photos help reduce the "noise" of people; they simply blend into the image because there's no hot pink top or sparkly shoes that draw the eye. Maybe this is obvious to you professionals, but for me it has become a game changer and I'm rediscovering a lot of my photos in #BlackAndWhite that I didn't like very much before because of those pesky #humans in them. So thank you PixelFed for opening my eyes and making me see the world through grey-coloured glasses! 🩶

A black and white, low-angle shot captures a group of people walking away from the camera through a shadowed passageway. The passageway is long and narrow, with textured walls on either side and a floor that reflects the bright light emanating from the open end.
Seven figures are visible, varying in size and apparent age. Most appear to be adults, and there is at least one child. Several of the individuals are wearing hats. They are all moving towards the bright opening at the far end of the corridor, where a glimpse of a large, light-coloured building with a traditional roofline and arched openings can be seen.
The contrast between the dark, enclosed space of the passageway and the bright exterior creates a strong sense of depth and directs the viewer's eye towards the light and the figures moving within it. The overall mood is one of exploration and movement through a historical or architectural site.

The image shows a building with Chinese-style architecture, situated on the second floor. The walls of the building are painted red and adorned with intricate designs. The roof is made of tiles, and there are several windows visible along the sides of the building.

In front of the building, large rocks or boulders can be seen, possibly part of a garden design. To the left side of the image, a tree branch is visible, featuring yellow leaves that may indicate autumn or fall seasonality. The overall setting appears to be in an outdoor location, possibly within a park or garden, given the presence of trees and rocks.

It's worth noting that Chinese architecture often incorporates elements such as red walls, tiled roofs, and intricate designs, which are all present in this image. Additionally, the use of natural materials like stone and wood is common in traditional Chinese buildings. Overall, the image suggests a serene and peaceful atmosphere, with a focus on blending harmoniously into i

The image features a cobblestone street or courtyard, characterized by rough-hewn stones that have been laid out to form a path. The stones are rectangular and flat on top but vary in shape at their bases where they interlock with one another. They are arranged in rows, with some sections displaying a pattern of alternating light and dark stones while others feature a more random arrangement.

The cobblestones appear to be made of a type of basalt or granite that is common in the region and have been weathered to display a rough texture. Some areas show evidence of wear and tear, suggesting that they have been used for many years as part of an urban landscape or public space.

In addition to the cobblestone surface, there are several objects visible within the image, including a large metal pot or cauldron situated in the upper left corner and what appears to be a stone wall running along the right side of the image.

My Social Psychology class held a workshop where we get to make an art piece. I ended up drawing this because I couldn't think of anything else to draw soooooo... yeah!

Here is my attempt at drawing the 弘義閣 - Belvedere of Spreading Righteousness, a building located in the Forbidden City (紫禁城) of Beijing, China.

Might not be the best but hey, I tried 😅
