@chris Don't hold your breath. I suspect that they have another tack to try, and never make the mistake of assuming your enemy is unskilled or uninventive.
SO FAR:
* fake drug problem, including refering to fentanyl as "weapon of mass destruction"
* tariff efforts, to make submission appear cheaper financially
* "governor" linguistic approach, acting as if it's already true.
* suggestions about our military incapacity, earlier with the NATO bullshit.
STILL UNTRIED:
* false flag terror attack
* secret funding for groups like the Wexit bunch - this may be "unknown" rather than "untried"
* "little green men" operation on election day (cf. Ukraine, 2014)
* brute force without any pretextual justification
OTHER OPTIONS:
I remember reading a US Army collecion of white papers, a few years back, on how to apply pressure to a nation's schisms, complete with a worked-out example for Pakistan. One second. Its title is, of course, misleading:
See Figure 9 (p 39) for other pressure points. Our society is hardly perfect, and I am sure people with more social acumen than I have would be able to identify weak points on the right side of the chart better.
