Free Comic Book Day 2025 is in the books! I want to thank Mathias, Joel, and the entire Knowhere Comics & Comics crew for having us. And everyone who stopped by. ❤️
I absolutely love seeing kids come in and grab their comics and get wide-eyed, watching us draw. I hope we made lasting fans of the medium today. That's THE best part.

But the fun doesn't stop there! I'll be in Temecula tomorrow for the SoCal Joe Show! I'll be there from 9am until 2pm. I'm bringing a HUGE selection of GI Joe comics, original art, and a mountain of prints!

Finished "Qualia the Purple" #yuri while waiting in line for #FreeComicBookDay today. Definitely feels like an acquired taste.

Went from strangely compelling to infinitely more interesting around Chapter 11, settling back down to adequate with Chapter 14... and in the end, overall, it's fine. Interesting scientific basis, but went too far with it? I think it's reach exceeded its grasp, for lack of a better phrase. YMMV.

Today when I was at the comic book store for #FreeComicBookDay, I didn't see Valiant's 2025 entry and naively assumed they didn't have one this year. Either I didn't look hard enough during all the chaos or the store "sold" out of all of them before I got there (which seems unlikely since I only got there 3 hours after opening, but whatever).

So THERE'S a soon-to-be hot topic discussion on the ValiantFans forum that I'll have to pass up cuz I don't have it. Oh well, still got a nice haul today.

Had a pretty great #FreeComicBookDay and got to pick up a good handful of non-free comics, including old Spawn issues, two Silver-age Marvel comics (Daredevil 54 and Avengers 51) and even picked up the first phonebook-sized volume of Cerebus. All this for less than 70 bucks. The free selection was a bit limited this year, but that's just a motivator to get people who wouldn't otherwise come to the comic book store to potentially get into the hobby. The real pull is the community and support :3
