I've been a bit absent from social media lately. I haven't been feeling any better, so I went to the hospital yesterday (UPA Sul in Florianópolis). I was treated very well. They ran several tests, and in the end, the doctor diagnosed me with Acute Sinusitis and suspected a bacterial infection. She prescribed several medications, including antibiotics — and the best part: I got everything for free. The entire treatment was free of charge. Long live SUS, Brazil’s Unified Health System. I saw #ArianaRamsey's posts on IG and I still can't believe the US doesn't offer #freehealthcare at least to national athletes.
In many other first world countries they aren't paid much either, but they do receive complete free healthcare. It's in the country's best interest to provide it.

Also it's worth mentioning that while the doctors are French, they're paid by the Olympic organizations, not the host country.
