For those of your with your own #poudriere installation, did you upgrade to 15.x via freebsd-update or pkg?
I can't build 15 packages before I'm on 15....
so I guess at least one host will always update using #FreeBSD provided packages, forever.
Man I seem to have a major problem with any popular OS, like some kind of techno-hipster. Before #Linux became cool, I was always eyeing it off and experimenting with #FreeBSD when I was feeling edgy.
Now Iβve got my project computers running #OpenBSD and Iβm trying to scope out a #9Front project. Heaven help me if mainline Unix becomes popular again.

How to Launch a FreeBSD 15 VPS Server
Well, FreeBSD 15.0 is now available! If you're a BSD user, you probably want to get your hands on it quickly. So, this guide aims to help you accomplish that, without delay!
What's New in FreeBSD 15.x?
FreeBSD 15.0-RELEASE contains a ...

Well, #Debian #Trixie 64-bit seems to be rock-solid when I run it in #Virtualbox, it's only a crashy piece of shit in #UTM. 32-bit Trixie is fine in UTM, as are #FreeBSD and #OpenBSD. This isn't a general 64-bit #Linux issue, as #Devuan #Excalibur seems to be stable.
I suppose that means it's time to ditch Debian for my #CPAN testing.
Did you know that the core BastilleBSD team offers consulting services for FreeBSD infrastructures and can also provide security audits of your infrastructure?

It is so very satisfying to see a FreshPorts commit processing queue quickly fill up when it comes back online after being down (for modification in this case).

(a lot of people have been asking for this, so i really hope we can land it.)
Is adding 'sysctl hw.acpi.reset_video=1' in /etc/rc.resume still recommended to get resume working in #FreeBSD 15? My laptop can suspend but not resume. Leaves me with a black screen with a large white cursor in the top left.
@eestileib Tried again with #Waterfox v6.6.6,1 on #FreeBSD v14.3; started fine & had set the desired options.
After quitting & restarting got β¦
Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[0][GFX1-]: RenderCompositorSWGL failed mapping default framebuffer, no dt (t=192.593) [GFX1-]: RenderCompositorSWGL failed mapping default framebuffer, no dt
β¦ removing "~/.{waterfox,cache/waterfox}" directories did not change anything.
I do not expect anyone to resolve it; nor am I inclined to file a bug.

Oops, a Remote Code Execution vulnerability in the daemon that processes IPv6 Router Advertisements. That's not good.
I guess that makes today the day that I upgrade my 14.3 box to 15.0-RELEASE-p1.
π¨ ALERT: FreeBSD's "security" geniuses have discovered that their router advertisements can execute code remotely! π±π» But don't worry, they patched it in record timeβby repeating the same date and time for every version. ππ§ Bravo, truly groundbreaking work! π

Iβve opened a PR to avoid hardcoding the FreeBSD version to 14.0 in the Podman installation instructions and make it more generic.
