After considering today's Blu-ray haul from Fopp, I decided this evening's viewing would be old-school, 90s, French style over substance with early Luc Besson flick, Nikita, with Anne Parillaud in her Little Black Dress (& enormous gun).
Years since I last saw this. The uber-cool Jean Reno also makes an appearance, as does Betty Blue star, Jean-Hugues Anglade.

“Seize The Day” by Wax Tailor Feat. Charlotte Savary from “Paris (La Bande Originale Du Film de Cédric Klapisch)”, 2008
I went conceptual this time, looking for something with #CarpeDiem spirit and rediscovered this stirring #downtempo track from a French film I’ve never seen, with tracks of varying types/tempos of groove mostly from French artists I’m not familiar with, plus one track each by #RosemaryClooney, #QuincyJones, and #WilsonPickett.
It all fits together more cohesively than it might sound and makes a compelling argument for tracking down the film, but this track, which for all its treated vocals and sampled snippets maintains a very organic feel, is for me the highlight. The video using #StopMotionAnimation with cutout figures is a small masterpiece too and fits the #collage-like construction of the track.
