Frosty

This image was captured right after a decent snow storm came through Yosemite Valley.
This beautiful snow covered tree stood out against the muted evergreens behind them.
The snow was unbroken and presents a beautiful white carpet leading back to the tree.
The oak, with it's broad branches seemed to have captured more snow than those around it.

Frosty This is an image of a snow-covered oak tree captured in Yosemite Valley just after a winter storm moved through the valley. The foreground of the image is a white carpet of undisturbed snow. The oak tree "Frosty" is framed on the left by the branches of another oak. The right side of Frosty is framed by some taller Douglas Fir pine trees. Snow pretty much covers everything but the colors of the tree fight to break through. You can see a nice green under the branches of the pine trees. A bare tree, likely deciduous, stands prominently in the centre of the frame against a pale blue, slightly cloudy sky. Clumps of green mistletoe (Viscum album) are densely clustered on its branches.
