My frozen shoulder limits my wardrobe choices. Last night, I went shopping for sundresses I can get in and out of without help. I wore my respirator into the busy store and took an armload of cotton dresses into the change room. I pulled one dress on, and the anti theft tag got caught on my respirator strap. I was physically unable to disentangle it because of my gimpy shoulder.
I pulled the dress back off and it was still stuck. I tried as best as I could to disentangle it with my one good arm, and finally it broke one of the straps on my mask. But at least I had the dress off.
I adjusted the remaining strap as best as I could to hold the mask snug to my face. It wasn't a perfect seal, but it was better than no mask at all.
Then I had to get back into my own clothes. By this point, I was so fatigued from my battle with the anti theft tag that I had a hard time zipping up my front-closing dress. My hand was trembling so much it was difficult to grip the zipper tog. It took me a few tries to get my dress back on properly.
Oy. Getting old is some serious bullshit. But at least I found a couple of dresses I actually like and that I can get in and out of without help.
