Het is de vruchtselectie ‘Nikitskaya Bordovaya’ van een kruising Kaki (Diospyrus kaki) met Amerikaanse persimoen (Diospyros virginiana).

All apricots are picked. The neighbors are happy, so are the chickens.

Now comes the preserving.

The immediate reward this afternoon will be an apricot pie. To be followed by homemade apricot ice cream in a couple of days.

Then on to peaches in three or four weeks.

A tiring session at our allotment today - apart from all the usual jobs, I've put a frame for the front of the shed up pending getting a door from somewhere.

We've come home with
cherries (the birds aren't hungry this year)
redcurrants
blackcurrants
gooseberries
strawberries
and a few raspberries & loganberries

I've sown yet more pea seeds in the hope that a few might germinate.

The ground is very dry.
