Over on Bluesky I saw more of the typical Democrat self-defeating helplessness.

Maybe because y’all squandered the months between the election and inauguration?

Because instead of organizing, presenting a unified front against the fascism you FUCKING CAMPAIGNED ON, and trying to obstruct and stymie Trump and MAGA at every turn the lot of you helped him? Either directly through voting for his nominees or indirectly by being especially bad at your jobs?

Because, even now, there’s no unified message or push or attempts to leverage obvious grassroots disgust?

Because they’ve put more energy and attention into destroying Mamdani - the kind of politician they *claim* we need more of - than fighting Trump and MAGA?

Lest there’s any doubt, everything that’s happened and is happening is the fault of Trump and MAGA.

But the Dems? Their scatterbrained and scattershot flailing pantomime of an opposition party, in many ways, helped enable it. Certainly, the lack of unified, fiery pushback hastened it. To say nothing of those who actively helped him by voting for his nominees.

Instead of looking for sympathy and defending these people, maybe realize they’re not the solution and eliminate them (non-violently, of course) from the equation.

Remember early on in this nightmare (and we're only 6 months in) when I said the Dems wouldn't be the ones to save us? Look at how the establishment Dems (and their media mouthpieces) have reacted to the Mamdani primary victory.

These people have far more in common with MAGA than you and I, and when push comes to shove, they'll side with corporate interests every time.

It's why they had a tepid, scattershot reaction to DOGE.

It's why so many voted for Trump nominees.

It's why they backstabbed the House - the younger, more diverse chamber.

"Well, we just need to vote in more actual leftists!"

I agree.

I just have my doubts, with the establishment's money and a complicit media, that any kind of sea change will happen fast enough to curb the damage.

Do it because it's the right thing to do, certainly. Use every weapon at our disposal. But also recognize that actual, meaningful change will likely originate in the streets, not the voting booth.

How much you want to bet that the ceasefire - if it’s actually a thing - essentially reinstates the Obama framework Iran agreed to years ago? Trump’s MO is to do dumb, destructive stuff, and then return to something resembling the status quo and claiming it’s all due to his “brilliance.”

For once I’m not going to blame the Democrats for something. They can’t stop a Commander in Chief from doing something incredibly stupid. This isn’t like, you know, having no plan in place to deal with DOGE, or gleefully voting for cabinet members, or the Senate members backstabbing the House, or ….

No, this is what happens when a thin-skinned, cruel, easily manipulated and led tyrant leads the military.

Think about it like this: I’m 45. I lived through all of Reagan and both Bushes. And their administrations had some evil people within them. They all talked tough and rattled their sabres regarding Iran, but they never did something like this. Even with Dick Cheney.

So now we’re at the Gaza genocide still ongoing, Israel escalating things by attacking Iran, and Trump, the evil dipshit, doubling down. Oy.

The only thing I can say is that we need more No Kings style protests. As often as they can happen. This shit all needs to stop.
