After the late 1940s the mantra was “If you see a Nazi, punch a Nazi”, plain and simple. This then became “Maybe it’s not okay to punch Nazis, and we should have discussions with them” a few decades later, and now look where we ended up.

Honestly, I have to agree with this. Punch them, kick them out. Make an example of them. Do whatever it takes to make sure they know they ARE NOT WELCOME. Do what shit crust punk dive bars do. Get them the fuck out.

Do not have fucking discussions with fucking Nazis.

It is terrifying that over time my worries for the internet are slowly becoming more and more true and it has slowly become unsafe for LGBTQIA+ people to be themselves in one of the only places that used to be safe for them to be themselves.

With the recent change in policies by META it has shown they have 100% turned there backs on us and now we NEED to make sure that LGBTQIA+ people have a safe space on the internet.

Hopefully Instances across the Fediverse can be those places, I know I run my Instances pretty lax but any Transphobia, Homophobia or other discriminatory behavior will be fediblocked ASAP.

Meta Can Kiss My Liberal Ass

Allow me to start this post with a broad statement. I will then change the subject for a while before returning to explain the broad statement.

Hey Meta (facebook, instagram, whatever)… FUCK YOU.

Now, I’ve spent the day getting shit done. I cleaned the bathrooms, cleaned all the floors, fixed the bed in my step daughter’s room because she’s sleeping here tonight, moved my office from the desk in my step son’s room to the desk in the cellar because he’ll be here on Monday which is the next day I will work from home. I also went grocery shopping and I may or may not have stopped at the sugar free bakery in Salem too top it all off.

My step daughter, Bellana will be here later tonight. She’s staying over but heading back to Vermont tomorrow. The day after tomorrow my step son, Harry will be here and he’s staying for a few days. The house is as ready as it gets. Jen and I are as ready as we get. Bring on the kids! WOOHOO!

Now, allow me to restate the initial thesis of this post. Meta can go fuck itself. It can fuck itself right in it’s mother fucking eye.

In the months leading up to the election any time I was on a Meta social network service and I saw any post from anyone anywhere that was even the tiniest bit pro trump/maga/nazi/fascist/white supremacist/racist/bigoted anything I blocked the user. No questions, just blocked the fuck out of the racist/fascist fuckers. Good riddance.

Today I went on instagram. Every single add I saw (roughly one out of every three posts is an add, which is FUCKING INSULTING regardless of the content) was maga related. ALL OF THEM. Every single add. It made me physically sick. So much for the algorithm showing me adds based on my viewing habits, right? Nope. This was just a fascist friendly company shoving nazi propaganda into my face. This was worse than fox news. This was fucking evil. I blocked almost every sponsored account. I didn’t block them all. Why? BECAUSE INSTAGRAM WOULDN’T FUCKING LET ME.

Fuck you, meta you fascist fucks. Fuck you zuckerberg you nazi mother fucker.

When did Instagram become a snuff flick site?

I finally took a look at IG "reels" recently, spending 45 minutes one day and 20 minutes the next letting them autoplay.

One after another, the videos showed people being killed or seriously maimed: by landslides, avalanches, falls, car wrecks, motorcycle wrecks, industrial accidents and any number of other scenarios.

Most of the time, the video cuts out at the point where you'd see the mangled body, but there's no doubt that people died in these clips. It was horrifying and gross. People's tragedies being replayed on loop as spectacle to sell ads and increase engagement for no redeeming value.

There has been considerable critique of the way cops-murdering-Black-people videos have been turned into spectacle for consumption, but it could be at least argued that those videos motivated people to action. IG death videos are pure consumption, packaged and served up for clicks.

IG/Facebook/Meta is sick.

@ellasoul I'd really like Mastodon to be different in lots of ways to Twitter and to Instagram. Instagram has such a dominant role in the promotion of image based content now. But like everything #FuckZuck it's stuck in a stupid, sexist, patriarchal view of the world typified by its absurd bans of women's nipples and other body types it doesn't like.

Twitter allows nudity but an awful lot of it is just people reposting other people's images without permission or credit, or without the permission or knowledge of the subject.

Instagram constantly bans art/photos that include non-sexual nudity and imposes it's rules in more and more absurd ways making users self-censor until their work is 'nice' and 'bland' and inoffensive to it's advertisers.

But still, I get far more traffic to my website https://starshumansnests.com/ when I signpost to it from Instagram. But I mostly have to ruin my images with stupid censorship to avoid a ban.

Even so, I've posted, censored, non-sexual images of disabled subjects and has bans when similar images of non-disabled people have been allowed.

So, unless Mastodon picks up, I need to keep posting images in Instagram 😐
